Stephen Edwin King, född 21 september 1947 i Portland i Maine, är en amerikansk författare som skrivit 64 romaner, varav sju under pseudonymen Richard Bachman, samt fem facklitterära verk. King är framförallt verksam inom genrer som skräck, thrillers, deckare, science-fiction och fantasy, och har även skrivit cirka 200 noveller. Många av Stephen Kings böcker har legat på bästsäljarlistorna och sammantaget uppskattats hans böcker ha sålt 350 miljoner exemplar.
